Council leader unsuccessful in appealing against court case delay
Nottingham Post
|May 17, 2025
THE Ministry of Justice has confirmed that a Nottinghamshire council leader has been unsuccessful in appealing a delay to his criminal trial.
-
Jason Zadrozny, who is the leader of Ashfield District Council, was set to stand trial at Northampton Crown Court in February on a range of criminal charges, all of which he has pleaded not guilty to.
The court then confirmed shortly before the trial was due to begin that it had been pushed back to August 24, 2026. Councillor Zadrozny, who has spoken about enduring “the weight” of his criminal trial, immediately launched an appeal to bring the trial forward as soon as possible.
