Bus station ban for Lime e-bikes after 'nuisance' riders abuse elderly man
Nottingham Post
|April 26, 2025
LIME bikes will be banned from a Nottingham bus station after groups of youths recently rode through the area and verbally abused an elderly man.
Security officers were also subjected to verbal abuse while trying to manage the incident on April 8 in the Broad Marsh Bus Station.
Nottingham City Council condemned the “completely unacceptable” behaviour and the authority's leader has now apologised to the elderly gentleman concerned. In her apology letter, Councillor Neghat Khan confirms that Lime's Micromobility bikes will now be stopped from entering the bus station.
The city leader writes in her letter, sent on April 17: “It has been noted that many of the bikes in question are Lime Micromobility bikes, which can be disabled in specific zones. We are currently in discussions with Transport Nottingham and I can confirm the Broad Marsh Bus Station will become a red zone from next week, where these devices would cease to function entirely.”
