Late Rolling Stones star's country estate goes up for sale at £2.75m

THE luxury North Devon home of Rolling Stones legend Charlie Watts is up for sale for £2.75 million.
Halsdon House near Dolton was home to Charlie Watts (pictured inset) and his family for 40 years
Mr Watts lived with his family at Halsdon House for 40 years until his death in 2021.
The Grade II listed country residence comes with equestrian facilities and is set in 55 acres in the heart of rural Devon.
The drummer and his wife Shirley were looking to buy a country escape in 1983 and came across the Grade II-listed home on the outskirts of the village of Dolton.
They stayed there happily for the rest of their lives until Charlie died at the age of 80. Shirley died a year later also at the home. It is now being sold by their daughter, Seraphina, through Savills.
Seraphina was just 15 when the family moved there. She had previously said her parents valued the sanctuary out of the glare of the spotlight when the band wasn't touring. The house was Charlie's main residence away from the demands of being a world-famous musician.
The Rolling Stones star had previously told of life in the property. He wrote that his family were "content to live their solitary human lives amongst a menagerie that includes 15 Arabian horses, 18 dogs and two cats."
