Green hydrogen hub work begins

Prime minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday laid the foundation stone of NTPC Green Energy Ltd's (NGEL) green hydrogen hub at Pudimadaka near Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, among several other infrastructure projects in the state.

It will be the first green hydrogen hub under the Centre's National Green Hydrogen Mission.
"It is now time for Andhra Pradesh to become a centre for futuristic technologies," Modi said, while emphasizing the need to lead in emerging technologies, including green hydrogen. The National Green Hydrogen Mission was launched in 2023, with a target of producing 5 million tonnes of green hydrogen by 2030.
