President taps Juan to lead ERC

President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. has appointed energy sector veteran Francis Saturnino Juan as chairperson of the Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC), following the resignation of Monalisa Dimalanta, Malacañang announced Thursday, July 17.
In a press briefing, Communications Undersecretary Claire Castro said Juan's appointment will take effect on Aug. 8.
"Chairperson Juan will steer the ERC toward more efficient, transparent, and pro-consumer decision-making," Castro said.
"We are confident that Chairperson Juan's deep institutional knowledge and leadership will ensure a smooth transition," she added.
