Ilocos Sur officials condemn viral bullying of learner

Officials in Ilocos Sur have condemned the viral video showing a learner being bullied inside a classroom of Quinarayan Elementary School in Narvacan town and called for immediate intervention from the local government unit, Department of Education (DepEd), and police.
In a joint statement, Board Members Janina Medina-Fariñas, chairperson of the Committee on Women, Gender, and Family, and Victor Singson, chairperson of the Committee on Youth and Sports, denounced the incident and stressed that bullying has no place in schools.
"No child should be made to feel unsafe in school. Bullying is unacceptable and must be addressed with urgency and a child-sensitive response," they said.
