President Marcos creates independent probe body on flood control anomalies
President Marcos has accepted the resignation of Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Secretary Manuel Bonoan and appointed Department of Transportation (DOTr) Secretary Vince Dizon to head the DPWH as part of a wider anti-corruption campaign in government.
The President also established an independent commission to investigate flood control anomalies to address mounting concerns over irregularities in infrastructure spending.
In a statement on Sunday, Aug. 31, Communications Secretary Dave Gomez said Marcos tasked Dizon to conduct a full organizational sweep of DPWH.
"To lead the DPWH through this critical transition, the President has appointed Transportation Secretary Vince Dizon as the new Secretary of DPWH," he said.
