A taste of Jamaica - in a toasted sandwich
Manchester Evening News
|January 24, 2025
ON A REGULAR Salford estate stands a brand-new takeaway that is hoping to bring the taste of the Caribbean to the locals.
Named after the luxurious holiday destination in the Atlantic, Turks and Caicos Kitchen has been open for just two months now.
The food spot came about after the owner, Chef Zee, pinpointed Littleton Road in Kersal as one of the areas in Greater Manchester that could do with some Caribbean flavour. The menu comprises the food we have come to love from that part of the world, such as jerk chicken, rice and peas, oxtail and more. However, what really intrigued me about Turks and Caicos was its Jamaican-themed sandwiches.
They include an oxtail Philly cheesesteak, a cheesy curry goat toastie with hard dough bread and a pepper steak toastie all costing £10 as well as a jerk chicken wrap which goes for £8.50.
During my visit, I had the cheesy curry goat and pepper steak toasties, inset, and jerk chicken wrap.
