JLR WORKERS' FEARS AS CRISIS DRAGS ON

WORKERS affected by the ongoing crisis at Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) fear they won't be able to pay their bills next month as alarm grows that the ongoing shutdown of the company's production operations could go on for weeks or months to come.

The ECHO was the first to reveal that JLR had been hit by a cyber attack on September 1, with the company moving swiftly to shut down its production operations around the world - including its key UK site of Halewood.

Production at the nation's largest car manufacturer has remained stood down ever since that date, with workers continually told to stay at home with no idea when they might return to work. As things stand staff have been told they will be off until at least Wednesday, but there are suggestions the crisis could continue for some time.
