A big week for Lions begins with the visit of title rivals

Leicester Mercury

September 15, 2025

IT is a big week for the Lions, starting tonight with the visit of the Sheffield Tigers to the Hydroscand Arena for the first leg of the playoff semifinals, with the return in South Yorkshire on Thursday.

A season of high-level performances in the Premiership has earned the Lions one of the four playoff places and now only the Tigers stand between them and a second consecutive appearance in the Grand Final.

Leicester enter the semifinals in top form. Winners in 15 out of the last 18 league and cup fixtures, the Lions are the only team to have won at Sheffield's Owlerton stadium this season.
