Leicester Mercury
|April 25, 2025
A DRIVER who was caught speeding at 99mph on a 60mph road told magistrates who were deciding his punishment that he "really, really" needed to keep his driving licence.
George Goodacre was caught by clocked by police using a manned speed camera on the A47 Billesdon bypass on September 29.
Goodacre, of Forest Rise, Thurnby, was issued with a notice of intended prosecution, and admitted he was the driver at the time of the offence.
The 29-year-old was later told he was not eligible for a fixed-penalty notice due to the excessive speed.
