Street 'disorder' after 'man attacks woman' inside pub

POLICE descended on a town centre after 'disorder' broke out following an assault.

The 999 activity centred on Leek's Derby Street and Market Place after a man allegedly assaulted a woman inside a pub.

The alarm had been raised at around 6pm on Wednesday (April 16) with two police cars and two vans being sent to the scene when the suspect refused to cooperate.
