Road closed due to sinkhole which 'may increase in size'
Lancashire Evening Post
|April 20, 2026
A road was closed after a sinkhole appeared in the middle of the carriageway with experts warning it may increase in size.
Lancashire Police was at the scene of the sinkhole in Moor Lane, close to the University of Lancashire, and the road was closed in both directions from around 8am on Friday when an officer spotted the sinkhole appearing.
There was no estimated time for when the road reopens but police said that if the sinkhole increases in size then it could pose a risk to road users.
