Reviews Progress of Development Works in Srinagar
Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Monday said that long term solutions are needed to address traffic congestion, waste management and the growing stray dog problem in Srinagar, stressing the need for scientific and coordinated approaches to improve civic conditions in the city.
Chairing a high-level review meeting at the Sheri-Kashmir International Conference Centre to assess the developmental scenario of Srinagar district, Omar directed departments to work towards a permanent solution to the environmental and public health issues arising from the Achan dumping site, with emphasis on scientific waste management practices.
