Parents tell of fresh agony after Gavin's grave was desecrated
DEVASTATED parents whose son's grave was desecrated a number of years ago were left reeling when the memorial at the site where he was murdered was also damaged.
Gerry and Helena O'Connor say they don't know how much more pain they can take after the attack on the memorial over 14 years after it was erected near the roadside at Lisdoonan in Co Monaghan.
The couple lost their 22-year-old son Gavin when he was beaten by rocks before being mowed down by a car at the site in June 2011.
In 2014, Conor McClelland, of Cullentrabane, Laragh, Castleblaney, Co Monaghan, was jailed for life after being found guilty of the talented musician's murder.
