Man charged over 'false' social media post about migrant

A MAN was in the dock yesterday over a social media post allegedly containing false claims an asylum seeker from an IPAS centre exposed himself on a bus to a teen girl.

Kirk Loco, 44, of Waverly Meadow, Rathnew, Co Wicklow, appeared at Bray District Court over distributing or publishing a threatening or grossly offensive communication about an individual, known only as MM, with intent to cause harm.

Garda Emma Jane Doyle gave evidence of arresting Loco at his home at 7.05am yesterday and said he made no reply to the charge after being cautioned.
