Kerry legend 0 Sé backs Kingdom to come good as summer hots up

One of the great unknowns is whether or not opponents will be able to contain Kerry's kicking game at Croke Park in knockout Championship football under the new rules, which facilitate moving the ball faster off kick-outs and turnovers.

And specifically, can the best of the rest hold David Clifford at Croke Park when they can only get 11 bodies back?

"I think David has proved if he gets early ball, that's what he loves," says Ó Sé. "I think he's also proved he's more than capable of creating just as much as he scores. He's well comfortable in dealing with busy situations. If there are 11 bodies back, he's more than comfortable contributing in that 11. I think he's having a very good season. I think he's been one of their top players and he is on song.

"The more ball he gets inside quickly the more damage he will do, but it's not as simple as saying that because other teams will have plans in place in terms of getting bodies back or slowing the ball that goes in.

"So it's not always going to happen for him, that's going to be playing in open space and getting quick ball. I think he's also capable and he's shown that when the need is greatest he tends to show up. And that is coming down the tracks for him and the team."
