€114k fraud couple jailed over social welfare pay

A COUPLE who fraudulently claimed more than €114,000 in social welfare payments have each been jailed for 18 months.
Cristan Turbat, 39, worked for a construction company under his brother-in-law’s name while his wife Dorina Turbat, 41, applied for jobseeker’s allowance after claiming her husband was out of work.
She also claimed working family payment and rent supplement that she was not entitled to.
