Higgins tells of 'shame' at abuse report

PRESIDENT Michael D Higgins has told of his "sense of shame" at reading the shocking abuses detailed within the Defence Forces Women of Honour report.
An Independent Review Group found rapes and beatings were frequent.
It also said some recruits were placed in barrels alongside animal carcasses as part of "hazing" rituals.
