Irish Daily Mirror
|March 25, 2026
DEVASTATED Nicky Henderson paid tribute to “unforgettable” Sir Gino (left) yesterday after the star hurdler lost his battle with ill health. The winner of seven of his eight races had been fighting an infection for around seven weeks, which developed while he was beginning his recovery from a fractured pelvis. Vets had given the former Champion Hurdle favourite round-the-clock care since he was pulled up with the issue when trialling for the Festival race at Cheltenham in January.
