A MAN appeared in court yesterday charged in connection with the death of a Donegal man at the weekend.

Accused in court over house death

James Spendley, 57, was charged with assault causing serious harm after the body of 61-year-old Eddie Friel was discovered at his home on Harbour View Drive in Killybegs, Co Donegal on Sunday.

Garda Detective Niall Brady of Ballyshannon Garda Station gave evidence of arrest, charge and caution before Judge Sandra Murphy at Carrick-on-Shannon District Court in Leitrim.
