OPERATION SINDOOR

India Post

|

May 16, 2025

Multiple explosions were heard in two big cities of Indian-controlled Kashmir last Saturday, hours after India and Pakistan agreed to a ceasefire deal; following the US-led talks to end the military confrontation between the nuclear-armed rivals seen in decades.

India and Pakistan are currently facing one of the most intense periods of border tensions in recent years, triggered by the launch of Operation Sindoor on May 7, 2025.

Earlier, several explosions reverberated through Jammu city, causing a total blackout just hours after India foiled Pakistan's attempt to target military installations along the border. Reports indicated the presence of loitering munitions in the skies. Similarly, the border town of Jaisalmer also experienced loud explosions during the nights, while blackouts were imposed across western Rajasthan's districts bordering Pakistan, plunging the area into darkness few days back.

Multiple districts of Punjab, Chandigarh, and parts of Haryana, including Panchkula, Ambala, and Sirsa also faced these blackouts. Measures were taken amid rising military tensions following Operation Sindoor and the increasing threat of airstrikes.
