Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) recovered cash and jewellery worth ₹50 lakh, allegedly stolen from a businesswoman's house in Ludhiana, from two Nepal nationals at the Indo-Nepal border in Champawat district, police officers said on Wednesday, adding that the two accused managed to flee due to the rush at the border outpost and efforts are underway to nab them.

SSB recovers stolen jewellery, cash worth ₹50L, 2 absconding

Officers from the Banbasa police station said Ludhiana police arrived on Tuesday, identified the jewellery, and approached the court for the release of the cash and jewellery.

SSB officials were conducting routine frisking at Indo-Nepal border in Banbasa on Sunday when two Nepal nationals were frisked and cash and jewellery items and ₹4L in cash among other things was found in their bags, police said, adding that SSB took them into custody but they escaped due to the rush.
