Utensil banks in all villages likely soon, says govt

THE MOVE IS PART OF THE STATE'S EFFORTS TO MAKE VILLAGES PLASTIC-FREE AND PROMOTE ECO-FRIENDLY PRACTICES
JAIPUR: The state government is set to establish a "utensil bank" for villages following the initiative announced in the state budget in February this year, panchayati raj department guidelines released on Wednesday said.
This bank will provide utensils to people during community events or gatherings in the villages, with a minimal rental charge of just ₹3 per set.
"In this year's budget, the state government had announced the establishment of utensil banks to make panchayats plastic-free. Following through on this, the guidelines for the utensil bank have now been released. Soon, funds will be released to 1,100 panchayats for this initiative," said Joga Ram, secretary, panchayati raj department.
The government plans to set up this utensil bank in over 1,100 panchayats across the state.
