CBFC distances itself from Sarke song row

Amid controversy over the song Sarke Chunar from the upcoming Kannada film KD The Devil, the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has clarified that it neither received any certification request for the track nor regulates content released on digital platforms.

In a statement to PTI, the CBFC said, "Content on digital platforms is not certified by CBFC," adding that it is often unnecessarily drawn into matters beyond its jurisdiction.
