Anil Ambani says not given hearing on SBI 'fraud' tag
Hindustan Times Noida
|July 03, 2025
Anil Ambani on Wednesday claimed that State Bank of India (SBI) slapped 'fraud' tag on the loan account of a bankrupt Reliance Communications Ltd (RCom), which is currently undergoing liquidation, without providing a basis for its decision or giving him a personal hearing.
MUMBAI/NEW DELHI:
In a letter to SBI through his legal counsel, Ambani said the bank's order was passed ex parte, disregarding Supreme Court and Bombay High Court rulings, as well as Reserve Bank of India (RBI) guidelines. The letter also alleged that SBI ignored repeated requests to provide the basis of its decision and denied Ambani a personal hearing.
A copy of the letter was seen by Mint.
