Sharjeel withdraws his interim bail plea in court

Studentactivist Sharjeel Imam, an accused in the larger conspiracy behind the 2020 Delhi riots case, on Tuesday withdrew his application seeking interim bail from the Karkardooma Court to contest as an independent candidate in the upcoming Bihar elections.
Advocate Ibraham Ahmad, on behalf of Imam, told Additional Sessions Judge (ASJ) Sameer Bajpai of Karkardooma Courts that the plea is being withdrawn due toa technical issue as Imam’s regular bail application is already pending before the Supreme Courtand it was appropriate that the interim bail be moved at that forum.
