Cong cites Trump-Munir meet to attack Modi on US engagement

The Congress on Wednesday demanded that Prime Minister Narendra Modi call an all-party meeting upon his return from his three-nation tour to brief leaders on his telephonic conversation with US President Donald Trump,
NEW DELHI: even as the opposition party criticised India's diplomacy following Trump's decision to have lunch with Pakistan army chief General Asim Munir.
Congress communications chief Jairam Ramesh said India received a "triple jhatka (triple shock)" in foreign policy, citing Trump's meeting with General Munir; the US President claiming he brokered the cessation of hostilities between India and Pakistan; and a top US military official describing Pakistan as a "phenomenal" partner in counterterrorism operations.
