China, Turkey media handles blocked on X over 'anti-India' posts

TURKISH PREZ EXPRESSED SOLIDARITY WITH PAK, PROMPTING CALLS ON INDIAN SOCIAL MEDIA FOR SANCTIONS AGAINST TURKEY
NEW DELHI: India temporarily blocked several foreign media accounts on X amid a crackdown on what officials described as "anti-India content" following the country's Operation Sindoor against Pakistani targets.
The X accounts of Turkish broadcaster TRT World and Chinese state-run tabloid Global Times were blocked for several hours before being restored Wednesday evening. However, the account of China's official Xinhua news agency remains blocked.
The blocking comes amid heightened acrimony between those backing India and those supporting its regional rivals, Pakistan and China, including political leaders and state-run media organisations.
