8 Maoists killed in C'garh carried ₹16 lakh bounty

THE MAOISTS KILLED IN THE ENCOUNTER BELONGED TO THE GANGLOOR AREA COMMITTEE OF THE WEST BASTAR DIVISION
RAIPUR: The eight Maoists killed in an encounter with security forces in Bijapur district of Chhattisgarh on Saturday were senior cadres carrying a cumulative reward of ₹16 lakh, police officials said on Sunday, adding that a search is underway amid the possibility of more extremists being injured following Saturday's operation.
"The Maoists killed in the encounter belonged to the Gangloor Area Committee of the West Bastar Division, including ACM and Militia Company members," Bastar range inspector general of police Sunderaj P said.
