Offshoots of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, the ideological fount of the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) have flagged concerns about the Union Budget, pointing out that it does not address the problems of small-scale farmers sufficiently and does not address the most urgent livelihood and social security concerns of the working class.
The Bharatiya Kisan Sangh (BKS) that represents farmers and agriculturists, has welcomed the inclusion of 500 Amrit Sarovars, strengthening fisheries in coastal areas, and proposal to promote high-value crops such as coconut, cashew, cocoa, and sandalwood under the crop diversification scheme.
