Row Between Anvar and UDF Continues Ahead of Kerala Bypoll

The uncertainty over the induction of PV Anvar and the Trinamool Congress (TMC) state unit that he leads into the Congress-led UDF and the former's reluctance to back the UDF candidate Aryadan Shoukath in the upcoming bypoll in Nilambur continued to roil the state's politics on Wednesday.
KOCHI:
Anvar, the state convenor of the AITC, resigned as a Left-backed MLA of Nilambur in January and subsequently announced support to the UDF while at the same time demanding the party's induction into the UDF. His resignation led to the vacancy in Nilambur assembly constituency which is scheduled to hold the bypoll on June 19.
