Kerala Woman Who Faced Body Shaming, Dies of 'Extreme Dieting'

An 18-year-old woman in Kerala has died allegedly after following an unhealthy diet in an attempt to lose weight after being subjected to body shaming, doctors said on Tuesday.

The deceased, Sreenanda, a resident of Koothuparamba in Kannur, died on Saturday while undergoing treatment. Her extreme diet led to severe health complications, following which she was admitted to the Thalassery Co-operative Hospital, officials said.
