HERD IS LEFT TO RUE A FAMILIAR TALE OF WOE IN ENFIELD DEFEAT

- By MICHAEL REEVES

HERTFORD Town player-manager Ben Herd cut a disappointed figure after falling to a 2-1 home defeat in their penultimate game of the season at Enfield.

The result, which saw Herd fire home an edge-of-the-area free-kick, saw Hertford drop a place in the table to 13th.

And with one game of the Southern League Division One Central campaign remaining, a visit from league runners-up Berkhamsted on Saturday, the former Shrewsbury Town defender want his players to end the season on a high.

"It is quite simple, every game, every training session, everything I do in my life I want to be better. Nothing changes," Herd told the club's media. "Every single training session I have ever been in I wanted to give 100 per cent and win and I want the team to reflect that as well.
