Oscar winner Julianne Moore portrays a resourceful mother, who will do anything to protect the ones she loves, in a psychological thriller written by Mare of Easttown creator Brad Ingelsby and directed by Michael Pearce.
Kate Garretson (Moore) stands by her manipulative and scheming drug addict daughter, Claire (Sydney Sweeney), despite repeated warnings from her ex-husband Richard (Kyle MacLachlan), who is tired of writing cheques to resolve his daughter's messes. One rain-swept night, Claire turns up at her mother's farm covered in someone else's blood after an argument with her no-good boyfriend (Edmund Donovan).
Hysterical and desperate, Claire begs Kate for another lifesaving favour and the mother goes above and beyond to conceal incriminating evidence.
Unfortunately, Claire’s drug dealer Jackie Lawson (Domhnall Gleeson) may have witnessed Kate acting as her daughter's accomplice and his silence carries a heavy price tag.
