Sharjah to monitor food establishments in Ramadan

Sharjah City Municipality announced its preparations and the readiness of its teams during the Holy Month of Ramadan, having allocated integrated inspection teams to monitor food selling and handling establishments, and to observe negative behaviours and distortions of public appearance, according to Obaid Saeed Al Tunaiji, Director General of the Municipality, who noted that the Municipality aims to intensify monitoring food establishments which witness high demand during Ramadan, and therefore it is essential to ensure the provision of safe and wholesome food which complies with health requirements and standards.

Al Tunaiji indicated that major inspection campaigns will be carried out, including: a campaign to ensure the issuance of permits for displaying food outside shops, a campaign to ensure the issuance of permits for preparing and selling food during the daytime in the Holy Month, in addition to a campaign on bakeries, a campaign on popular kitchens, and another on sweets shops.
