SWINDON SEEK PERMANENT MOVE FOR TOWN WINGER
CHARLES Vernam could depart Grimsby Town this summer, with fellow League Two club Swindon Town seeking a permanent move for the winger.
The 28-year-old could be set to reunite with his former boss Ian Holloway, with the Robins said to be pursuing a transfer.
Vernam, who is in the final year of his contract at Blundell Park, arguably played the best football of his career under Holloway at the end of his first spell with the Mariners before leaving in the summer of 2020 for Burton Albion.
He has been plagued by injuries since, particularly during this second spell at Grimsby after signing a three-year deal on his return in 2023. The winger has made just 38 appearances in all competitions in the last two seasons, with two major hamstring injuries seeing him out months at a time on two separate occasions.
