YOUNG people across the Folkestone and Hythe and Thanet areas are set to benefit from vastly expanded employment support as the government rolls out a wave of new “Youth Hubs” to tackle rising youth unemployment.

The nationwide scheme will launch 80 new hubs to address the growing number of young people who are not earning or learning - a figure that rose by 248,000 nationally between 2021 and 2024.

Designed to move away from a “one-size-fits-all” approach, the Youth Hubs will bring together Jobcentre Plus, local authority services, local employers, and training providers all under one roof to support young adults between the ages of 16 and 24.
