Revenue in mining, petroleum sector misses target again

State govt is facing a significant shortfall in revenue collection from its mining and petroleum sectors, with figures for the current financial year (2025-26) revealing a worrying trend of underperformance for the second consecutive year.
According to official data, the mining sector had set a revenue target of Rs 12,980 cr for financial year 2025-26. However, as of now, only Rs 2,094.71 cr has been collected, amounting to a mere 16.14% of the annual goa
