JDA cancels overpriced single tender worth approx ₹40 crore
First India Jaipur
|June 29, 2025
A report by First India News has led to a significant development in the Jaipur Development Authority (JDA). Following the news channel's Impact, the JDA has cancelled a single tender for a stormwater drain construction project in Zone 10, citing unreasonable rates quoted by the contractor and failure to reach a suitable figure during negotiations.
The contract had been awarded to the sole bidder - M/s Lalchand Tiwari - who had quoted approximately ₹40 crore for a project originally estimated to cost ₹28 crore. This represented a 38.99% hike over the estimated cost. The tender was issued for drain construction, and no other firm had submitted bids, making it a single-tender situation.
