Ten stores in the next one-and-a-half years in India; forays into US and Europe too
THE COUNTRY'S LARGEST organised retailer Reliance Retail on Wednesday said that it had stepped into the ethnic arts and crafts segment with Swadesh, a large-format store that aims to give creative expression to artisans. The first store was launched in Hyderabad at the Alcazar Mall, a popular shopping destination in the city, on Wednesday.
Positioned as a premium-to-luxury shopping destination, Swadesh will stock over 400 products of handmade textiles, handicrafts, agricultural products that are listed with geographical indications, paintings, sculptures, jewelery, homeware, wellness products etc.
