Tech boom sends IT jobs soaring
Financial Express Kochi
|March 06, 2025
WITH THE RISE of new technologies like AI, machine learning, and a revival in BFSI and retail sectors, the demand for IT professionals seems to be gaining momentum.
According to hiring firms, a sharp uptick in job listings is visible through February, reflecting a 50% surge compared to January. However, the demand is largely for specialized skills rather than entry-level roles.
Industry analysts attribute this rise to positive sentiments around increased IT spending by US firms under President Donald Trump's administration, along with a growing push for faster technology adoption.
"IT hiring has surged significantly since January, driven by the need for specialized talent. In some niche areas, demand has nearly doubled, reflecting a shift in how companies are strengthening their technical capacities," said Varun Sachdeva, senior vice-president and APAC head at staffing firm NLB Services, which recruits for top IT firms.
