MOVE COMES AS INDIA GRAPPLES WITH SUPPLY DISRUPTIONS
ALL MAJOR INDIAN refiners, except Nayara Energy, have postponed their refinery maintenance schedules in response to the escalating war in West Asia and resulting supply constraints. The move aims to safeguard domestic fuel supplies amid growing regional uncertainties.
Speaking to reporters, Sujata Sharma, joint secretary in the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, said the decision was taken after the government’s consultations with all refiners, signalling a coordinated response to the emerging supply crunch.
Indian Oil Corporation and Bharat Petroleum Corporation, among others, had planned routine shutdowns at select units but have deferred them to maintain output and meet local fuel demand.
