RAISING THE BAR
QUICK COMMERCE PLATFORM Zepto has raised its free delivery threshold to ₹149, an increase of more than 50% from the earlier ₹99 level.
Under the revised structure, customers must now place orders worth at least ₹149 to avail free delivery. For orders below this threshold, Zepto charges a ₹20 delivery fee, reduced from the ₹30 it levied earlier on orders under ₹99. The company continues to waive off handling fees, surge charges, convenience fees on tobacco, and late-night fees across all orders, irrespective of cart value. Zepto's aggressive fee waivers were introduced in early November, a move industry observers described as an attempt to rapidly expand market share amid intensifying competition and a potential public listing.
