STAR SAYS SECURING FIRST TROPHY UNDER POCHETTINO WILL GIVE CHELSEA BELIEF THAT MORE SUCCESS AWAITS

GUSTO: WIN CAN SPARK GLORY ERA

WINNING the Carabao Cup Final can be the catalyst for a new era of Chelsea success under Mauricio Pochettino, according to Malo Gusto.

The French full-back believes the Blues have turned a corner in the past few weeks, with back-to-back wins at Aston Villa and Crystal Palace followed by an impressive draw at Manchester City.

And the 20-year-old has backed his team-mates to carry that form into Sunday’s showdown with Liverpool at Wembley and deliver some silverware just eight months into Pochettino’s stuttering reign.

“We have a big chance to win a trophy early in the season,” Gusto told Standard Sport. “It can be nice for our mentality and help us become better. It is very important to take this opportunity.

“The season is not finished. We have to keep working, stick together and keep pushing to show to the fans that we are Chelsea and we need to win everything.
