The visitors were 34-0 ahead at halftime before Derby managed to land some blows after the break.

It was another much-changed Derby team due to injuries and one of the young players who grabbed their chance to give a glimpse of the future was Adam Todd, who replaced McGrath Van Wyk at halftime and played on the wing.

"Adam did really well," said Derby head coach Liam Slatem.

"I think he could have come on earlier. MC has been struggling with injury but it shows his determination to keep playing. It shows what kind of person he is that he has pushed through injury for several weeks to still play for the club and be available for selection.

"But we had to take him off and that gave Adam his chance in the second half. Defensively he put himself around, making hits and fronting up physically, so that was pleasing.
