The Reds were beaten in their National League North clash thanks to a goal from Luca Thomas after just two minutes.

ILKESTON TOWN also suffered a home defeat, going down 2-0 against fellow mid-table side Ashton United in front of a crowd of 421.

Second-half goals from Darius Osei and Enock Lusiama earned the visitors victory in Northern Premier League Premier Division.

And the trend continued in the NPL East, with MATLOCK TOWN losing ground in their promotion bid as they were beaten at home by Heaton Stannington.

The visitors came, saw and conquered the Gladiators, but needed a 92nd-minute winner to do so.

Matlock opened the scoring through Cameron Wilson, and led again when Ryan Viggars reestablished their lead after Jay Errington’s equaliser - all before halftime.
