PAIR SAY THEY 'WILL CONTINUE WORK FOR THE COMMUNITY'

- By SOPHIE FAGONE BUSCIMESE

THE self-styled “Flag Men of Derby” have told of their disappointment after the city council said it would not be returning flags removed from lampposts.

Damien Harris, who has put up nearly 500 flags around the city with his friend Dan Warren, said he was “frustrated” by the move after initially hoping he would receive them back.

Derby City Council said on Friday, October 24, that it would not return the flags, saying the “complexities of proving ownership, and the fact that they were attached without consent” had influenced the decision.
