PLANS to demolish a Derby bus depot have taken a big step forward but the scale of the work has been reduced.

Last month it was reported that Trentbarton had applied to Derby City Council for permission to bulldoze all three buildings at its depot on Meadow Road in the city centre.

The company, which takes thousands of passengers across Derby each day, assured it was staying at the site and said the plans were to create more space and “to enable a future depot modernisation programme”.
