Beating a path to castle to witness first UK sighting of exotic heron
Derby Telegraph
|June 24, 2026
AERNARFON Castle has witnessed many historic events but nothing like the mustering of an army of twitchers in the shadow of its formidable ramparts.

Thousands of birders have been left beating a glorious retreat away from the coastal wetlands bordering the Unesco World Heritage Site having fulfilled a prophesy.
